Intuitive Strategic Planning
Groups sometimes have problems.
- New members join an established board of directors. They bring
energy and vitality, but disrupt comfortable ways of getting things
done; consequently, the board’s efficiency suffers. How can exciting new ideas
combine with time-tested procedures for the benefit of all?
- Three people who have never shared an apartment with anyone must become
roommates. How
will they coordinate the big and little details of a life in common and
still retain their sanity, personal styles, and friendship?
- A group of co-workers has to implement a new policy—on top of
already heavy workloads. Rather than being excited by the new policy, everyone is overwhelmed, and morale plummets. How can the new policy be enacted, the existing work be managed, and the team feel a renewed sense of enthusiasm?
Each of these situations calls for Intuitive Strategic Planning.
I developed this process by combining the strategic-planning model I
learned as a school director with procedures designed to encourage the
growth and development of individual intuition.
